I'm Melissa Maupin

I’m the founder of Align & Flow Studio.

I'm here to help you feel more embodied, less tense, and more a home in your body through gentle, nervous system based healing.

My Philosophy

I believe movement is medicine.

Not forced movement.
Not performative movement.
But intentional, supportive movement that honors posture, breath, joint health, and the nervous system.

Through my yoga training and continued education, I discovered a movement philosophy rooted in how the body is designed to move and heal—one that considers alignment, awareness, and regulation rather than pushing or fixing.

My Path

My journey into this work became personal after experiencing severe hip pain following my first pregnancy. I was doing “all the right things,” yet my body wasn’t improving in the ways I expected.

That experience deepened my curiosity about why the body holds tension and how healing actually happens.

Neurogenic Yoga was a turning point. It opened my eyes to the importance of nervous system regulation and showed me that releasing stress from the body isn’t just about stretching or strengthening—it’s about creating safety and allowing the body to respond naturally.

Later, I discovered Spinal Flow. What stood out immediately was how quickly it helped me feel better—without force, manipulation, or effort. It works directly with the nervous system and supports the body in releasing patterns that contribute to pain, tension, and imbalance. I saw how effective it could be across a wide range of experiences, and how gently it supported the body’s own healing processes.

How I Work

Today, my work blends:

  • thoughtful, alignment-based movement

  • nervous system–informed practices

  • hands-on support through Spinal Flow

All with the intention of helping people feel more at ease in their bodies.

I don’t believe healing needs to be complicated.
I believe the body responds best when given the right support.
